Ahlstrom-Munksjö has signed a non-binding letter of intent with the majority shareholders of Hebei Minglian New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. to acquire the company, comprising a modern greenfield decor paper plant in the city of Xingtai, Hebei Province, China. The letter of intent contains customary exclusivity undertakings on the part of the sellers with respect to the considered transaction.
Guangxi Xianglan (Shangfeng) Paper and Baosuo Paper Machinery Cooperation Upgraded

On November 1st, Guangxi Xianglan (Shangfeng) Paper and Baosuo Enterprise Group signed a contract for an annual output of 50,000 tons of high-grade tissue paper turnkey project which includes two Baotuo paper machines, Baosuo converting machine and related equipment.
Baosuo Enterprise will provide a turnkey project from stock preparation to finished product packaging. This is not only the extension based on previous collaborate projects, but also sincere cooperation between the two parties after establishing a strategic cooperation.
Veolia to Supply Lee & Man with Chemical Removal Process Systems at Pulp Mill in China

Veolia Water Technologies will supply a chloride and potassium removal system to Lee & Man's integrated pulp and tissue mill in Chongqing, China. The pulping technology at the site is based bamboo fiber.
The value of the order was not disclosed.
Veolia explained that its patented HPD® Enhanced Chloride Removal Process (ECRP™) uses a two-stage crystallization process, which is designed to treat 72 tons per day of precipitator ash to recover 93% of the sodium and remove 89% of the chlorides and 96% of potassium in the ash.
Stora Enso Has Completed the Divestment of Its Stake in Dawang Paper Mill in China

Stora Enso today announced that it has completed the divestment of its 60% equity stake in the Dawang Mill in China to its joint venture partner, Shandong Huatai Paper.
After this transaction, Stora Enso has no paper production in China.
The former joint venture, Stora Enso Huatai (Shandong) Paper Company Limited, operated the Dawang paper mill at Dongying in Shandong province in China. The mill has an annual production capacity of 140,000 tonnes of super-calendered (SC) magazine paper and other publication paper grades based on recovered fibre.
Andritz to Supply P-RC APMP Fiberline to Dezhou Taiding in China

ANDRITZ has received an order from Dezhou Taiding New Material Science and Technology Co., Ltd. (Dezhou Taiding) to supply a P-RC APMP (Pre-Conditioning Refiner Chemical Alkaline Peroxide Mechanical Pulp) fiberline with a capacity of 400 t/d to the mill in Dezhou, Shandong, China. The new system will process poplar as raw material, and the fiber produced will be used on the company's own paper machines for P&W (printing and writing paper) and board grades.

Air permit paves way for $1.8B pulp mill in Arkansas

Sun Bio received an air permit Monday from the state, allowing the company to begin construction of a $1.8 billion pulp mill first announced for Clark County more than three years ago.
Some 350 people will be employed at the mill when it opens -- up from the 250 employees projected in April 2016. Each job will pay about $52,000 a year, the company has said previously.
Investment in the project also increased from $1.3 billion to $1.8 billion when Shandong Sun Paper Industry changed the project's mission in early 2018. That change forced the China-based company to restart the application process for the necessary air and water permits from what is now the Department of Energy and Environment and its Division of Environmental Quality.

Sun Paper Receives Air Permit for Proposed Linerboard Mill in Arkansas

A news story on the Arkansas Democrat Gazette's website said that Sun Paper received an air permit from the state of Arkansas on Sept. 23, which allows the company to start construction of a proposed $1.8 billion pulp and paper mill.
The mill project was formally announced on April 26, 2016 when Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a memorandum of understanding with Hongxin Li, the founder and chairman of Sun Paper. The original plan called for an investment of $1-1.3 billion

Sun Paper and Voith cooperation sets a new milestone

Sun Paper, Voith’s long-term partner in China, recently awarded two new orders to the paper machine pioneer. This sets a new record for cooperation between Voith and Sun Paper with 11 paper machines having now been ordered in total.
The new order includes PM 39, a graphic paper machine, and the major components for PM 40, an MG paper machine. Both machines will be installed at Sun Paper’s Yanzhou facility, where PM 21, 24, 29, 36 and 37 are also located.

Sun Paper to Expand Laos Recycling Unit With Chinese State Loans

Sun Paper Group will boost the capacity of its waste paper recycling unit in Laos to 1.2 million tons a year after securing loans from two Chinese policy banks as the firm shifts production overseas due to restrictions on scrap paper imports into China.
The loans are relatively low-cost, the Jilin, Shandong province-based company said in a statement yesterday, without specifying the amount borrowed or naming the lenders. It will now shelve plans announced last month to raise CNY2 billion (USD284 million) through private fundraising, Sun Paper added.
