Sun Paper Receives Air Permit for Proposed Linerboard Mill in Arkansas

A news story on the Arkansas Democrat Gazette's website said that Sun Paper received an air permit from the state of Arkansas on Sept. 23, which allows the company to start construction of a proposed $1.8 billion pulp and paper mill.
The mill project was formally announced on April 26, 2016 when Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson signed a memorandum of understanding with Hongxin Li, the founder and chairman of Sun Paper. The original plan called for an investment of $1-1.3 billion
Paper manufacturing company Nine Dragons plans India unit near Paradip

Nine Dragons Paper Ltd, a public listed paper manufacturing company in Mainland China intends to set up a unit near Paradip, its first facility in India.
The company based in Guangdong (China) is the largest manufacturer of recycled paper in the world. It has production bases across eight locations in China, a joint venture company in Vietnam and two paper pulp mills it acquired in USA.
Sun Paper and Voith cooperation sets a new milestone

Sun Paper, Voith’s long-term partner in China, recently awarded two new orders to the paper machine pioneer. This sets a new record for cooperation between Voith and Sun Paper with 11 paper machines having now been ordered in total.
The new order includes PM 39, a graphic paper machine, and the major components for PM 40, an MG paper machine. Both machines will be installed at Sun Paper’s Yanzhou facility, where PM 21, 24, 29, 36 and 37 are also located.
AstenJohnson and Heimbach Call Off Proposed Merger

AstenJohnson CEO Kevin Frank on Aug. 30 announced that the proposed merger of AstenJohnson and Heimbach would not take place.
“We regret to announce that the proposed transaction to merge the Heimbach and AstenJohnson PMC (Paper Machine Clothing) businesses has been called off,” Frank said. “While both companies have a high level of respect for each other and saw great potential to merge, the obstacles simply proved too great to overcome at this time.”
Sun Paper to Expand Laos Recycling Unit With Chinese State Loans

Sun Paper Group will boost the capacity of its waste paper recycling unit in Laos to 1.2 million tons a year after securing loans from two Chinese policy banks as the firm shifts production overseas due to restrictions on scrap paper imports into China.
The loans are relatively low-cost, the Jilin, Shandong province-based company said in a statement yesterday, without specifying the amount borrowed or naming the lenders. It will now shelve plans announced last month to raise CNY2 billion (USD284 million) through private fundraising, Sun Paper added.
C&S Paper to Build USD580 Million 300,000-Ton Tissue Mill in Sichuan

C&S Paper plans to lay out CNY4 billion (USD580 million) to build an integrated 300,000-ton per year pulp and tissue paper plant in Dazhou in China's southwestern Sichuan province.
The project, which will have a 30-year lifetime, will augment current production and reduce the Zhongshan, Guangdong province-based company's over-reliance on outsourced pulp, which induces shortfalls, the company said in a statement yesterday.
The company's shares [SHE: 002511] rose 3.89 percent on the news to CNY12.29 (USD1.79).

Valmet to supply automation and quality management systems to Suzhou Taison Paper

Valmet will supply a Valmet DNA automation system and a Valmet IQ quality management solution to Suzhou Taison Paper Co., Ltd. in China. The systems will be installed on two tissue machines, enabling the mill to increase production efficiency and improve product quality.
The order was included in Valmet's first quarter 2019 orders received. The delivery will take place in the third quarter of 2019.

During the year, the Group’s total revenue increased by 24.7% to HK$32.21 billion ($4.1 billion), compared to HK$25.84 billion ($3.3 billion) in 2017. Valmet to Convert Paper Machine to Containerboard Production for Shangrao City Lulin Paper in China

Valmet will supply a grade conversion rebuild for Shangrao City Lulin Paper Co., Ltd. in Shangrao, China. According to Valmet, Shangrao City Lulin Paper plans to increase the capacity of fluting grades it produces and expand the company by building a new greenfield mill.
After being relocated to the site of the new mill, PM 5 be converted to produce fluting grades with a design basis weight range of 60-100 g/m2.
Three other A.Celli iDEAL Tissue Machines have been started up for Yibin Paper

A.Celli High-speed iDEAL® Tissue Machines, installed at Yibin Paper, a Chinese customer, successfully produce unbleached tissue paper, using 100% Bamboo Slush Pulp.
Four Tissue Machines are currently installed and, after the TM2, started-up last September 15th, also TM3 and TM4 (with a 16’ Yankee) and TM5 (with 18’ Yankee) have been started-up. The operating speed of the first Tissue Machine has been increased to 1500m/min in less than a month.

Cellwood Machinery Commissions Rebuilt Pulper at Vina Kraft Paper in Vietnam

Cellwood Machinery said that a Grubbens Vertical Pulper has been successfully commissioned at SCG's Vina Kraft Paper in Binh Duong Province, Vietnam.
The pulper project, which took place in September 2018, involved Cellwood Machinery rebuilding a bale pulper at Vina Kraft Paper's mill. The installation consisted of a new rotor unit 105/84 SF, engineering for internal lead plates, as well as a new drive unit.
Rebuilding the mill's pulper was part of an energy saving project that also resulted in improved pulp quality, Cellwood said.
Vina Kraft Paper Co., Ltd. is the largest packaging paper manufacturer in Vietnam.
