Valmet will supply three IntelliTissue 1600 tissue machines to Yusen Group for its mills located in Tai’an, Liaoning Province, and Chongxin, Gansu Province, China. The new order represents the fourth consecutive contract awarded by Yusen to Valmet and further consolidates a collaboration that has already resulted in nine successful IntelliTissue machine start-ups at Yusen’s Liaoning and Gansu sites.
Yusen Group once again selected Valmet based on the low energy consumption, excellent runnability and proven reliability achieved by the existing IntelliTissue lines. The company also acknowledged Valmet’s strong local service organization and the long-term operational performance of the IntelliTissue platform.
With this latest investment, Yusen aims to further expand its production capacity while continuing to supply high-quality facial and toilet tissue to the domestic Chinese market. The additional lines will support the Group’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the high-end tissue product segment.

The start-up of the new tissue lines is scheduled for the end of 2026 and the beginning of 2027.
Technical details of the delivery
The IntelliTissue 1600 lines will feature a paper width of 3,500 mm and a design speed of 1,650 m/min, with an annual production capacity of approximately 30,000 tonnes per machine. The machines will produce high-quality tissue paper within a basis weight range of 10–25 g/m².
The scope of supply includes the IntelliTissue machines, mechanical drive systems, steam and condensate systems, as well as auxiliary systems. In addition, Valmet will provide installation supervision together with start-up and commissioning guidance services.
